Movie Maniacs

3rd and 4th grade have been learning about jpgs and gifs. Do you know the difference? To understand the difference, students created an animated clip art/picture with abcya animate. The animations were outstanding.

After we mastered animation, we moved on to the ZimmerTwins to help discover how to put together clips to make a movie.

Next, students used the iPods to take video, upload video, and create a movie using Movie Maker.

2D to 3D

ColAR Mix is so much fun. Just ask the Lower School students to make a prediction about how to make something 3D.

iPad Exploration

The construction of the new kitchen is almost done in the Beasley STEM Center. Meanwhile, students in K-2nd grade are learning about apps on the iPads that will help document their learning this year.

Question: What happens when you take pictures to document your project, field trip, or nature walk? Or, you want to explain the process of an experiment?

Answer: You make a collage using PicCollage on the iPad.

How can we explain a process? In 2nd grade, students learned how to use Popplet Lite to create a graphic organizer of the frog cycle.

In Kindergarten, students experimented and made predictions about if an object would float or sink in salt water. We used Screen Chomp to record our voices to explain the process.
